It is with profound sadness that family and friends mourn the passing of Mason Jon Desormeaux, who was born June 25, 2011, in Lafayette, Louisiana, and died on August 8, 2026, at the age of 15. Mason was remembered as a bright, kind, and patient young man who was preparing to begin his freshman year at Vermilion Catholic High School. Those who knew him described him as a friend to everyone, someone who cared deeply about others and never wanted anyone to feel excluded. His ability to make people laugh was one of the qualities that made him especially memorable. Mason brought warmth and happiness to those around him, leaving behind cherished memories for his family, classmates, and friends.
He also had a creative and curious spirit. Mason enjoyed drawing, building with LEGO sets, and listening to a wide variety of music. He was particularly passionate about cars and developed a strong interest in everything connected with them. His enthusiasm for automobiles was an important part of his personality and something loved ones will remember fondly. Although Mason’s life was far too short, the kindness, humor, creativity, and friendship he shared made a lasting impression on many people. His family and friends will carry those memories forward as they grieve his loss.
