Eddie Richardson, one of the last surviving figures from an infamous era of London’s criminal underworld, has reportedly passed away at the age of 90.
Richardson was a prominent member of the Richardson Gang, a South London crime group that became notorious during the 1960s and was often associated with the so-called “Torture Gang.” Alongside his brother Charlie Richardson, Eddie became one of the better-known figures of the era and was involved in the long-running rivalry between the Richardson gang and the Kray firm.
Despite the notorious reputation surrounding his past, those who met Eddie later in life remember a different side of him. One personal tribute described him as a true “old school villain” and one of the last remaining figures from that generation.
