Riley was traveling as a passenger in a Honda CR-V when the vehicle reportedly left Interstate 84 for an unknown reason. The vehicle entered the median, became airborne, and landed on Highway 395, where it caught fire. Riley was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, identified as 51-year-old Jeffrey Downer McGowan of Woodinville, was rescued from the burning vehicle and transported to a regional hospital with serious injuries.
